Intern Abroad in Honduras!

We are looking for interns to assist with marketing and nonprofit administration in Copan Ruinas, Honduras this fall and winter. Founded in 1997, Paramedics for Children provides medical care, education services, and disaster response in Central America. Click here to learn more about what we do!

You’ll assist our founder, Rodger, with PFC’s administrative work and help develop and carry out online marketing campaigns. Projects include:

  1. Take video and photos for marketing on our website, email, and social networks
  2. Help create a series of videos and other marketing campaigns
  3. Help record and compile podcasts
  4. Assist with day-to-day administrative operations, such as filing and scanning
  5. Accompany PFC team and volunteers on school supply deliveries

We are looking for an intern interested in nonprofit development and marketing. You don’t need background experience in either of these areas, but it would be helpful if you consider yourself organized, creative, and flexible.

If you’d like to pursue independent study or internship credits in Honduras, we’re happy to work with you and your campus advisor to make sure you meet all your school’s requirements.

Copan Ruinas is a small town in Honduras, just two miles from the Guatemalan border. Nearby are Mayan ruins, a bird sanctuary, hot springs, and a town center with restaurants, shops, and street vendors.

You’ll be housed in Hacienda la Esperanza, the only bed and breakfast in the country whose sole purpose for doing business is to support the indigenous Chortí Maya indians. 100% of the proceeds from our B&B help fund Clinica la Esperanza, our onsite medical clinic. At the Hacienda, you’ll have wifi, three meals per day, good company, and a laid-back atmosphere. Plus, the Hacienda just won TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice for best B&Bs in Honduras for the sixth year in a row!

Interns must cover their own travel fees, such as flights, ground transport, vaccinations, and passport application (if needed), plus spending money.

The cost for this program is $125 per week, which covers housing, three meals per day at the Hacienda, TV, and wifi.

This is an ongoing internship, so you’re welcome to apply and travel at any time.
