Ambulances Across America Many people often ask us where do we get all those ambulances, and what do we do with them? Well the answer is very simple. We get our ambulances from all over the United States, and send them to developing countries that are in need of a modern EMS service. . Pictured above is just one of the many ambulances we get every year. This 1992 ambulance was donated to us from Mercy Flights Inc. from Medford Oregon, and the group you see in the picture are members of Explorer Post #131 from Medford Oregon who along with other Explorer post all across the county help us to transport this ambulance all the way from Oregon to our offices in North Carolina. That was a trip of over 3,500 miles! How the PFC ambulance program works! Once an ambulance is donated we repair and stock the ambulance, and then ready it for transport to Honduras or other countries in Central America. In the last two years PFC has brought more then twenty ambulances to Central America, and has opened over seven chapters of Paramedics For Children in Honduras alone. We have trained over 250 volunteers in both Honduras and Guatemala. Last year we ran over 800 emergency calls and saved the lives of over 500 people. Ours is not a give away program, but rather a program whereby a community can form and develop an all volunteer rescue squad that is not only supported by it's members but by the community it serves. We are constantly looking for these ambulances and many Paramedic, and fire departments across the country come to our aid by donating their ambulances that are being retired from service.
